Somnnumerology: Numbers For Your Slumber

Written by:

Conceived by the Chaldeans, Chaldean numerology is an ancient system of numerology that is used to interpret a person’s name and birthdate by assigning numerical values to letters based on their vibrations.

In this system, numbers are also associated with planets.

In the context of somnnumerology, the incorporation of Chaldean numerology is different in the sense that letters and names are not used; instead, what is used is birthdates, as well as beneficial numbers, colors, and gemstones aligned with the birthdates.

First, you need your Day number and your Life Path number, which you derive from your birthdate.
Your Day number is the DD in MM/DD/YYYY. Simply add up the numbers that comprise the DD. So, D + D = Day number.
Your Life Path number is the sum total of the numbers in your birth date: M + M + D + D + Y + Y + Y + Y = Life Path number.

Example birthdate: 8/14/2006
The Day number of the person with that birthdate is 5, because that’s what the DD number, 14, adds up to. 1 + 4 = 5.
For the Life Path number of the person, the full birthdate needs to be added up. 8 + 1 + 4 + 2 + 0 + 0 + 6 = 21. 21, or 2 + 1, adds up to 3. So the Life Path number here is 3.

Next are the beneficial numbers. Every combination of a Day number and a Life Path number has beneficial numbers that are compatible with both. The first part involves figuring out yours. You can do so here.
Returning to our example: the beneficial numbers for the person born on 8/14/2006, with Day number 5 and Life Path number 3, are 3, 5, and 9.

The second part is where your sidereal astrology chart is briefly utilized, but without the necessity for a birth time. The astrological concept utilized in somnnumerology is essential dignity.
Essential dignity is used to assess a planet’s relative strength or weakness based on its position in a zodiac sign. The five essential dignities, from strongest to weakest, are:
1. home or domicile
2. exaltation
3. peregrine
4. detriment
5. fall

(A planet in peregrine means the planet is in a sign that is neither of its other four dignities, i.e. Moon in Sagittarius.)

For this process, the planets in your chart that you work with in order are: your home/domicile planet(s), your exalted planet(s), and your peregrine planet(s). The numbers that correspond to those planets are the numbers you incorporate into the compound-number versions of your beneficial numbers. Everyone’s planetary placements are different, so make sure to calculate yours using the sidereal setting on the birth-chart-generating website that you use. (Note: 4 & 7 correspond to Rahu and Ketu but they are not planets, so in this context their strengths are dependent on the strengths of the signs in which they are placed.)
So let’s say the example person born on 8/14/2006 has Mars in Aries (home/domicile), Moon in Taurus (exalted), and Saturn in Scorpio (peregrine). The numbers corresponding to those, respectively, are 9 (Mars), 2 (Moon), and 8 (Saturn). The rest of the planets are in either detriment or fall.
Now take those numbers and see which compound numbers include them as well as add up to the beneficial numbers. (Please note and observe that there are some compound numbers that should be avoided.)
Since the example’s beneficial numbers are 3, 5, and 9…
For 3: 93, 39, 21.
For 5: 95, 59, 23, 32, 86.
For 9: 90, 27, 72, 81.
Those numbers above are the example’s slumber numbers.

Now that you have your slumber numbers, it’s time to put them onto a blank sheet of paper. Here you use your beneficial colors – which you can find here – for the color of the ink on your writing utensil. Make sure to put as much space between each slumber number as possible. Think of it as a form of art therapy!
Since Example is a Day # 5 and Life Path # 3, the beneficial colors here are rose, orange, violet, grey, and light blue. Example should choose any one or more of those five colors to write the slumber numbers (light blue pen, violet marker, orange colored pencil, etc.)

Once you are done writing out your slumber numbers, take a pair of scissors and cut out each one. Then take the now-separate slumber numbers and insert them into your pillow/pillowcase, and take your beneficial gemstones and place them under your pillow. If you don’t have a pillow, place the numbers and gems under your mattress. If you don’t have a mattress nor bed, place them in your purse or bag that you use daily.

And that’s the entire process! Everyone’s birthdates are different, so head here for more details pertaining to your Day # and Life Path #.
