Jyotish house activation is a method in Vedic astrology that utilizes the sidereal zodiac. Every house in your birth chart has a sign and ruling planet…

…and at least one house has at least one ruling planet in it. The premise of Jyotish house activation is if one house in your birth chart gets activated, then the other house that is ruled by that same planet also gets activated, as well as the house that same planet is in.
As an example of how Jyotish house activation works in general, let’s use an example planet: Venus. If the house in your chart where Libra is activates, then your Taurus house and the house where your Venus is also activate.
Somnastrology takes that concept and bases it around your sleep. With this method, you can:
- wake up to yourself (1st house)
- hit the sack and get the racks (2nd house)
- go from sleepwalking to effective talking (3rd house)
- feel that “there’s no bed like home” (4th house)
- have fun, games, and brain waves (5th house)
- let your bedding enhance your wedding (7th house)
- enrich your higher beducation (9th house)
- incorporate sleep in corporate (10th house)
- get friends with a little help from your sleep (11th house)
- and more, you get the idea…
Now what if the ruling planet of any of the houses mentioned above is in your 6th, 8th, or 12th house? Or, what if activating any of the houses mentioned above also activates your 6th, 8th, or 12th? In those scenarios, since your 6th, 8th, & 12th are considered your dusthana houses – houses that cause struggle (6th), pain (8th), and loss (12th) – then simply choose a different house from any of the other houses mentioned above. Similarly, if Rahu and/or Ketu fall(s) in your dusthana house(s), don’t activate it/them.
Utilizing this approach should help not only your sleep improve but also at least 1-2 other areas of your lives in the process. Of course, every person’s chart and houses are different, so seek more details here.
(Somnastrology and somnnumerology are meant to be used in tandem with each other. But what if you don’t know your birth time? In that case, you can use just somnnumerology, which is detailed more here.)
